The Sri Lanka sports minister, Mahindananda Aluthgamage, has said that the Sri Lanka players would be paid 65% of their dues within the next two weeks, while the balance amount would be paid by January 15 next year.”We will be able to complete the full payment by January,” Altuthgamage told the Sri Lankan parliament on Tuesday.Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has not paid their players their salaries since the 2011 World Cup ended in April after running up debts of US$32.5 million to finance the building of two international cricket stadiums in Hambantota and Pallekele, and to renovate the ground in Colombo, for the World Cup.Aluthgamage said that the ICC had agreed to pay US$2 million to SLC and that the coach and players would be paid out of those funds. Pakistan’s bowling coach, Mohammad Akram, said they were confident of getting a few wickets by keeping their line and lengths tight to build the pressure.”Our plan was to keep it tight,” he said. “We knew that if we did that, at some point the door would open and then we could push through it.”Zimbabwe had taken a first-innings lead in the first Test too but they had to bat last which put added pressure on them when they were set a target of 342 with a little more than a day left. “He [Sibanda] was off the field after lunch because he was not feeling well,” Panyangara said. “The team decided Prosper would be the best one to go and open for us. If you look at it now, it wasn’t that bad. As much as we didn’t want to lose those wickets at the end, we are still in a good position because two of the guys who are out are not top order batsmen.”

Tinashe Panyangara also said the pitch had not deteriorated much so far but hoped that it would on the last two days. “I hope so,” Panyangara said with a laugh when asked if he thought the pitch would get worse. “Every day we’ve thought it would get worse and it hasn’t really. But maybe on the final two days it will. It has been playing up a bit but I wouldn’t say it’s got much worse so far.”Just like Pakistan who had plans of bowling tight, Panyangara said they had planned to bowl around the off stump to keep Pakistan’s scoring rate down. Brian Vitori, who had not been picked for the first Test, claimed the last three wickets in two consecutive overs to take his first five-for in only his fourth Test.”Our plan was to stay around off stump all the time and keep the run-scoring down,” Panyangara said. “If you look at the run-scoring especially after lunch, they never scored at more than three an over. We knew if we did that right, we would get wickets.”Despite Pakistan’s lower-order collapse, Panyangara said they would need “a day at the least ” to bowl Pakistan out in the fourth innings after setting them a target. With six wickets in hand, he said they did not have any target in mind and would try to get “as many as possible” before bowling in the fourth innings.

وردًا على سؤال حول ما قاله في التعاقدات الجديدة وبيع اللاعبين، أوضح: “أعتقد أنه من الأفضل أن أوضح الموقف عندما التقينا للمرة الأولى، واتفقنا على بدء العمل في يوليو”.

وعما إذا كان تحدث إلى الأصدقاء والعائلة حول التنافس بين توتنهام وتشيلسي قبل تولي المنصب، قال: “بالطبع لدي أقرباء لي يحاولون دائمًا رؤية الرأي المختلف”.

واستطرد: “أعتقد أن الأشياء تحدث وهذه المرة كنت أركز أكثر على المشروع للمستقبل الذي أخبروني به لكنني لا أفكر كثيرًا، أعتقد أنها كانت فرصة رائعة بالنسبة لي للانضمام إلى ناد رائع حقًا والعودة إلى الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز”.

Antônio Luiz Belardo, diretor de futebol feminino do São Paulo, classificou a nova camisa 11 do clube como “melhor jogadora atuando no Brasil”. Ela é nome certo para a Copa do Mundo feminina, que será disputada na França a partir de junho, e acredita que o Tricolor pode colaborar em sua preparação mesmo com uma estrutura recém-montada na modalidade – até o ano passado, o clube tinha apenas equipe feminina de base.

– O São Paulo foi o clube que mais demonstrou interesse no Brasil. Tive propostas de fora, do Barcelona e do Lyon. Pensei na minha mãe, então queria ficar no Brasil, não sabia em qual clube. E o São Paulo apostou em mim para ajudar no desenvolvimento – emendou Cristiane.

As são-paulinas serão comandadas pelo técnico Lucas Piccinato. O supervisor Amauri Nascimento completa o “time” montado pelo clube para tocar a modalidade. Leco, Raí e o diretor de relações institucionais do clube, Lugano, prestigiaram a apresentação da goleadora.

Cristiane, que tem no currículo passagens por Santos e Corinthians, estava no Changchun Yatai, da China, antes de se acertar com o Tricolor.

O lateral-direito Victor Ferraz compareceu ao velório do ex-atacante Coutinho, que está sendo velado nesta terça-feira, na Vila Belmiro.

Ferraz valorizou a época em que Coutinho e seus companheiros disputavam o esporte. As excursões, segundo contado pelo ex-atacante, duravam até 40 horas.

– Eu não tive oportunidade de ver o Coutinho jogando em si, mas conversei, escutei histórias. As que mais me chamam a atenção são as excursões. De como era diferente enfrentar viagens. Reclamamos de uma conexão, viagem de 10 ou 12 horas, viajavam 36, 40 horas para jogar no outro dia. Fica um exemplo muito grande e o mínimo era vir, dar uma força. Eu já orei pela família para que Deus possa consolar – falou o jogador.

O capitão do Santos ainda falou que Coutinho foi um dos responsáveis para o clube se tornar um dos maiores do mundo. O ex-camisa 9 conquistou mais de 15 títulos no Alvinegro.

– É um momento triste, não só para o Santos, mas para o futebol brasileiro. Pegou a todos de surpresa. Mesmo não trabalhando, era presente em alguns momentos com a gente. Antônio Wilson Vieira Honório nasceu em 11 de junho de 1943, na cidade de Piracicaba (SP). Com apenas 14 anos, o atacante fez sua estreia profissional pelo Santos, em 1958. Ele permaneceu no Peixe até 1968, e depois retornou para mais uma passagem em 1970.

Entre seus principais títulos pelo Santos estão seis Campeonato Paulistas, cinco títulos da Taça Brasil, além de duas LIbertadores da América e dois Mundiais Interclubes.

Coutinho é o terceiro maior artilheiro da história do Santos, com 368 gols marcados em 457 jogos, atrás apenas de Pepe, com 403 gols, e Pelé, com 1.091 gols. Ele fez parte do lendário ataque formado por Dorval, Mengálvio, Coutinho, Pelé e Pepe. O artilheiro era considerado o melhor parceiro que Pelé já teve.

The equation narrowed down to six needed off the final ball to tie and Michael Rippon did just that, and though Netherlands denied Ireland a win, the result was good enough for Ireland to become the first Associate nation to qualify for the 2015 World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.The tension began to build when Tom Cooper was dismissed in the 48th over, leaving the hosts with 16 to get off the last two overs with three wickets in hand. Alex Cusack bowled a tight penultimate over, conceding just three runs and dismissing Mudassar Bukhari, caught in the deep. The pressure piled on the ninth-wicket pair of Edgar Schiferli and Rippon heading into the final over and it escalated when Schiferli was run out off the second ball.John Mooney didn’t concede a run off his first three balls, but his next three went for plenty. Rippon took two off the fourth and hit a four off the fifth. With seven needed to win off the final ball, Mooney only needed to ensure he bowled a legal delivery, in order to deny Netherlands a victory. The final ball disappeared over long-on but Ireland had done just enough to make it to their third consecutive World Cup.For the second time in as many matches, Ireland’s O’Brien brothers, Niall and Kevin, made solid contributions with bat and ball respectively. Niall made an exact 50, while Kevin took 3 for 52. Ed Joyce held the innings together with an unbeaten 96 after Ireland opted to bat. The Ireland openers got off to a good start, adding 73 within 14 overs before William Porterfield was bowled by the offspinner Michael Swart for 30. His opening partner Paul Stirling made a run-a-ball 49 before he drove Rippon straight to Cooper at cover.Niall and Joyce then added 113 for the third wicket, the most productive stand of the innings. Niall pushed a single to cover to reach his fifty but fell in the same over, bowled by Cooper trying to sweep. Bukhari took two wickets to reduce Ireland to 235 for 5 off 46 overs. Joyce needed 11 for a century before the final over and when he faced the penultimate ball, he needed five. He could only manage a single, annoyed with himself for not being able to retain strike.Netherlands began positively, getting to 50 within nine overs before Stephan Myburgh was bowled by a Stirling top spinner for 35 off 26 balls. Eric Szwarczynski and Wesley Barresi took the score to 135 before Ireland hit back with three quick wickets for seven runs. Barresi fell four short of a fifty when he was caught behind off Kevin.Daan van Bunge helped Netherlands make a quick recovery with a brisk 45 off 40 balls, taking the score to 210 off 41 overs before Kevin trapped him lbw. The asking rate crept above seven after van Bunge’s dismissal and Peter Borren and Cooper helped keep the hosts in the game with a stand of 34. Porterfield took a sharp catch at midwicket to send back Cooper and give Kevin his third wicket.
