O Avaí terminou neste domingo a preparação para enfrentar o Tubarão. A partida é a última a ser realizada valendo a 7ª rodada do Campeonato Catarinense. Na Ressacada, o técnico Claudinei Oliveira aproveitou para treinar jogadas aéreas e fazer atividades táticas.

Com 10 pontos, o Avaí é o 4ª colocado na classificação da competição. De olho no Tubarão, Claudineitestou tanto jogadas defensivas, como ofensivas. Caso vença, o Leão ganha mais um posição na tabela e se aproxima dos primeiros colocados.

Sem André Moritz, suspenso, e Getúlio, expulso na última partida do estadual, o Avaí terá mudanças para enfrentar o Peixe.

The tiny trophy was right there in front of him, taunting him, yet he must wait four months before it is up for grabs.Between now and November, Australia have four Tests to put themselves into an Ashes-winning frame of mind. They have made a good start, having won seven of their eight Tests since leaving England empty-handed last year. Stumbling against Pakistan, who haven’t beaten them in a Test in nearly 15 years, would be a massive snag in their plans.For that reason, Ponting has his sights set firmly on stopping Shahid Afridi, the new Pakistan captain, from having any influence on the game. In a side without Mohammad Yousuf and Younis Khan, Afridi is the undisputed leader of a young group. He claims to have restored the unity of the team but Ponting knows that if Afridi fails on the field, so might his colleagues.”From an outsider’s point of view at the moment it looks as though they’re sort of running a bit off him,” Ponting said. “I think a lot of their younger blokes look up to him and he’s their leader, the bloke they go to when they need something to happen, so it’s pretty much like every captain of every side is. We always talk about trying to nullify the captain and take the captain down early and we’ll try and do that in this series as well, there’s no doubt about that.”Equally, while Australia are keen to shut down a new-look Pakistan, they also want to try some fresh ideas themselves. Steven Smith will audition for an Ashes role, Tim Paine will gain valuable experience in case he is required again in the near future and Michael Clarke will be promoted to No. 4, a shift that will remain in place for the Ashes.The move up the order for Clarke is a significant step for the man most likely to be Australia’s next Test captain, and potentially their No. 3 when Ponting eventually retires. Over the past year, Clarke has been Australia’s leading Test run scorer while Michael Hussey, who is heading down to No. 5, has sometimes looked scratchy when exposed to the new ball.”It’s just about how well he’s played,” Ponting said of Clarke. “I think his game is very well suited to higher up the order against the new ball, probably a bit more than what Hussey’s is right at the moment. That’s the reason. He has been our most consistent player and that’s been in pretty much all conditions around the world.”The last Ashes series over here he showed that at different times and in challenging times when the ball was moving around quite a bit, that he can do the job up the order. He has developed his game nicely over the last couple of years and hence when you have those guys who are playing that well, we all know they need to be batting as soon as possible, so that’s why he’s moved up an extra spot.”It’s a change that was made with the Ashes in mind. In England last year, Clarke was comfortably Australia’s leading scorer and not surprisingly, they want to get the most out of him in the return battle. The two Tests at Lord’s and Headingley, in addition to the two Tests in India in October, will also provide some insight into Australia’s bowling ahead of the Ashes.Ben Hilfenhaus is back after a long bout of knee tendonitis, which kept him out of all but the first Test of Australia’s home summer, while Smith’s ability as a Test-class spinner will be closely monitored. If he shows enough promise in England, and in India if given the chance, he could threaten Nathan Hauritz come the first Test at the Gabba. All in all, Ponting sees the next two weeks as a valuable building block towards Ashes redemption.”It absolutely is,” he said. “But we’re not solely focused on November. We’ve got a lot of cricket to play before then. I see this as a great opportunity for the young guys to gain some more experience about Test cricket. It’s the true form of the game, it’s the game that tests you out the most, so we’re going to be learning a lot about our players in not only this game but every game we play before the start of the Ashes.”Australia should remain too strong for Pakistan but if they cast their gaze too far ahead, their building block could turn into a stumbling block.

Maior campeão da história da Copa do Nordeste, com cinco títulos, o Vitória inicia sua trajetória na Copa do Nordeste 2018 nesta terça-feira, diante do Globo-RN, às 22h45 (horário de Brasília), no Barretão, em Ceará-Mirim. A expectativa é grande em busca de mais uma taça. Até o momento, o clube fez contratações pontuais para reforçar o elenco.

Foram quatro novos jogadores contratados: os laterais Lucas e Bryan, o meio-campista Lucas Marques e o atacante Denílson. Todos atuaram na Série A em 2017.

Lateral-direito, Lucas esteve no Fluminense em 2017. Experiente, ele conquistou a Copa do Brasil em 2015, pelo Palmeiras. Bryan é lateral-esquerdo, e fez parte do elenco do Cruzeiro campeão da Copa do Brasil no ano passado.

Já Lucas Marques e Denílson estavam na Chapecoense e São Paulo, respectivamente. Aos 22 anos, ambos esperam se firmar no Vitória. O atacante, inclusive, deixou os torcedores animados ao fazer os dois gols rubro-negros no primeiro jogo-treino da temporada: triunfo por 2 a 1 sobre o Atlântico.

Com a manutenção de Vágner Mancini – treinador que possui maior número de jogos pelo clube – e a espinha dorsal do time, o entrosamento deve ser a arma do Leão nas primeiras partidas da temporada. Nove dos 11 jogadores que deverão iniciar o jogo de estreia são remanescentes de 2017, entre eles Santiago Tréllez, estrangeiro com maior número de gols no Brasileirão do ano passado: dez tentos.

– A Copa do Nordeste é um torneio muito importante no primeiro semestre. Somos os maiores campeões, e lutaremos para voltar a ganhar a competição. Temos uma base já formada, que será importante para o início do ano – afirma Erasmo Damiani, diretor de futebol do clube.

O Vitória segue atento ao mercado e deverá se reforçar mais nas próximas semanas.

– Estamos buscando mais alguns nomes de forma minuciosa. Queremos trazer jogadores pontuais, para fortalecer o elenco ainda mais. Estamos planejando para termos um grande ano, para que possamos dar muitas alegrias para o torcedor – completa Damiani.

A Copa do Nordeste será o pontapé inicial de uma temporada cheia de compromissos: Baiano, Copa do Brasil e Brasileiro. No estadual, a missão é conquistar o tricampeonato. Na última edição, o Leão levou o título de forma invicta.

Além do entrosamento e reforços de qualidade, o clube baiano também terá nas tradicionais categorias de base uma fonte para observar jogadores. Do atual elenco, nove dos 27 atletas são formados no tradicional celeiro do clube.

Com grande campanha na Copa São Paulo 2018, o Leão tem um dos destaques do torneio: o atacante Luan, de apenas 18 anos. Com cinco gols marcados, ele é um dos artilheiros da Copinha e é cotado para subir para os profissionais. O Rubro-Negro está nas oitavas de final de final e busca o título inédito.

O jogo desta terça-feira, diante do Globo, pela Copa do Nordeste, também é especial por outro motivo: será o primeiro sob comando do presidente Ricardo David, que assumiu o cargo em dezembro. O Rubro- Negro está no grupo B do torneio, ao lado de Globo, Ferroviário e ABC.

A diretoria do Avaí acertou na última semana a renovação de contrato do lateral-esquerdo João Paulo. Contente com a permanência no Leão da Ilha, o jogador, que tem passagens pelo Fluminense, Ponte Preta e Bahia, falou sobre o acordo.

– Estou muito feliz com essa permanência no Avaí. Esse era o desejo de todos. Desde o início falei que gostaria de ficar no clube para ajudar a colocá-lo novamente na primeira divisão. Agora é focar na pré-temporada para entrarmos com tudo desde a primeira partida do ano – disse o atleta.

Wickets fell in each of the first three overs of Delhi Daredevils innings, but David Warner batted on some other island to score the second century of this year’s IPL, his first in Twenty20s. On a track that assisted spinners, Delhi bowled smartly to never be threatened in the defence, winning comfortably and moving back to the top four.Neither did the Kolkata Knight Riders attack elicit respect from Warner, nor did the situation result in apprehension: he just cleared the front leg and hit his way to 107 off 69. The support required amid early wickets came from half-centurion Paul Collingwood, whose innings came straight out of the Paul Collingwood school of batting – practically without a back lift. Out of their 128-run stand in 16.2 overs, Warner scored 74 off 54.David Hussey, bowling so round-arm he looked like Lasith Malinga bowling off a two-step run-up, and Murali Kartik were Kolkata’s best bowlers, going for just 50 in their eight overs. They lost Angelo Mathews, who had conceded 11 in two overs, when he had his upper lip opened up while pulling off a diving save at the long-on boundary. The other 10 overs, though, featured a lot of loose bowling, and duly went for 116 runs.On a slow, turning pitch, Warner’s technique was simple: clear the front leg, don’t commit to any shot, and decide based on what kind of delivery it is. Throughout his innings, right from his first boundary slashed over point in the second over to his last six hit over long-off in the last over, he displayed this wonderful ability to hit to any part of the field from the same position. Between those two shots, he hit eight other fours and four other sixes. Anything full headed towards cow corner and midwicket, width had wide mid-off and point peppered. He also got a few generous long hops on the pads.A returning Charl Langeveldt saw the flames right up, and the returning Ishant Sharma was charred in his first over. Still both of them managed a wicket each, and it was a desirable start to have Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir and Dinesh Karthik back in three overs. However, they had another think coming.Warner’s four fours and a six off 12 balls had taken Delhi to 38 in those three overs already. Langeveldt came back in the fifth over, and was smashed for a four and a six. Hussey bowled a tight over to end the Powerplay, but at 62 for 3 Delhi could afford to consolidate. By the time Ajit Agarkar was introduced in the 12th over, Warner had paced his way to 66 off 42, Collingwood to 19 off 18, and Delhi were 97.Agarkar provided Delhi the next thrust: Warner smacked the loose deliveries, and Collingwood manufactured a boundary by walking down the track and flicking him over midwicket. Between the 14th over and the 17th, even as Warner moved closer to his century, the spinners allowed only 17 runs.In the 18th over came drama, when Kartik claimed a tough return catch. A disappointed Warner walked back on 96, but the third umpire, who didn’t find the catch clean, had him back. Kartik still finished off well, but in the next over Collingwood took over the hitting, lofting Gayle for two sixes, just clearing the rope.After letting Warner stroll to his century, Collingwood went for his third low six in the last two overs when Hussey produced the rare bright moment for Kolkata – a play that involved parrying the ball over the boundary, getting it back into play, and then diving back in to complete one of the most awesome catches ever. Good hands, sharp brain, an athletic body, all came together.Yet 28 came in the last two, and Kolkata needed an extraordinary start on a difficult pitch. Something quite opposite happened: Sourav Ganguly was like a rabbit caught in headlights against Dirk Nannes, Manoj Tiwary was done in by an Andrew McDonald offcutter that stayed low, and Mandeep Singh was owned by Amit Mishra. When David Hussey survived a plumb lbw first ball and Chris Gayle was dropped off Mishra the next ball, Kolkata were 34 for 3 in 5.2 overs.Neither of the beneficiaries could hurt Delhi, and as the required rate rose both of them holed out, leaving Umesh Yadav to make a mark with quick and full bowling for two wickets. Mishra was the pick of the bowlers, mixing the googlies and sliders well, and should have had Hussey and Gayle added to his figures of 1 for 18.The difficulty with which Kolkata struggled to 137 underlined the value of Warner’s knock, which took the pitch and the match state out of the equation.

Neste ano, João Paulo defendeu as cores do Bahia, mas não empolgou no clube nordestino e foi devolvido ao São Paulo. Sem espaço no elenco, o atacante arrumou as malas e viajou para Criciúma.

Defendendo as cores do Tricolor de Aço, João Paulo fez apenas 12 jogos em 2017 e anotou três gols quando teve oportunidade. Sua última partida foi no dia 13 de agosto, quando enfrentou o Atlético-PR, pela 20ª rodada do Brasileirão. Na ocasião, o Bahia venceu por 4 a 1.

O jogador está apalavrado com o Criciúma e, após aprovação nos exames médicos e físicos, deve ser anunciado oficialmente como reforço do Tigre.
