Flamengo e Grêmio se enfrentam na próxima quinta-feira na Ilha do Urubu e duelo entre as duas equipes promete ser o destaque da 13ª rodada do Campeonato Brasileiro. Sem Guerrero, Zé Ricardo deverá começar a partida contra o Tricolor Gaúcho com o também centroavante Leandro Damião. Na temporada, o camisa 9 é o artilheiro do Flamengo, com 17 gols marcados. Melhor pessoal da carreira foi ano passado pelo clube carioca e em 2013 pelo Corinthians, com 18 bolas na rede. Esse ano certamente será o mais “artilheiro” do peruano.

Liverpool are reportedly one of the Premier League clubs keeping an eye on Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Florian Wirtz over the possibility of a potential future deal.

What’s the story?

This comes after Germany-based journalist Christian Falk shared a post on Twitter revealing that Liverpool, along with fellow Premier League sides Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal have been “intensely” scouting the 18-year-old starlet.

Falk added that Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich are “leading the race” to secure a deal for Wirtz in 2023.

Liverpool fans will be thrilled

Wirtz joined Leverkusen’s under-19 team back in the 2020 January transfer window from FC Koln for a fee of £180,000.

After making just four appearances for Leverkusen’s under-19s, scoring two goals and providing three assists in the process, the £40.5m-valued teenager (Transfermarkt) made his senior debut for the club in May 2020 in a 4-1 win over Werder Bremen.

Since then, the attacking midfielder has made a total of 54 appearances for Gerardo Seoane’s side, scoring 15 goals and providing 12 assists along the way.

Impressively, Wirtz has managed to score six goals and provide four assists for Leverkusen in just seven appearances across all competitions this term, with his latest goal coming in the 4-0 win over Celtic in the Europa League.

In our view, taking into account his impressive goals and assists record for Leverkusen, particularly this season, it’s easy to see why so many clubs, including Liverpool, have their eyes firmly on the player.

Additionally, with the teenager recently becoming the youngest player to reach 10 Bundesliga goals after scoring the winner in their 1-0 win over Mainz -which led to Seoane calling him a “very talented player” – it’s safe to say that he is very much one to watch out for in the future.

In regards to Liverpool, with the Reds currently lacking a player who predominantly plays in the attacking midfield position in their squad – and some questioning why they did not directly replace Philippe Coutinho, who like the teenager can also play off the left – we feel that Wirtz could be a great addition to Jurgen Klopp’s squad if they can land his signature, especially since he can play on both wings too.

A Ponte Preta derrotou o Sol de América por 3 a 1, na noite desta quarta-feira, no Estádio Luis Alfonso Giagni, em Assunção, no Paraguai. Como também venceu a partida de ida, em Campinas, a Macaca avançou para as oitavas de final da Copa Sul-Americana. Agora, o time de Gilson Kleina espera a definição do confronto entre Sport e Arsenal de Sarandí para saber seu adversário na próxima fase. Os gols da partida foram marcados por Lucca (2) e Jadson, pela Ponte, e Javier Toledo, pelo Sol de América.

Depois de ganhar por 1 a 0 no jogo de ida, a Ponte foi para Assunção com uma pequena, mas valiosa vantagem. O gol de Sheik no último minuto do jogo no Brasil deu à Macaca a possibilidade de jogar pelo empate em terras paraguaias. O Sol de América, escalado com três atacantes, prometia ir com tudo para cima do time de Gilson Kleina, para conseguir a vaga para a próxima fase.

E essa pressão inicial de fato aconteceu. Aranha foi obrigado a fazer boa defesa logo aos sete minutos, em chute de lonmga distância. A Ponte, porém, não se acovardou e chegava com perigo também. Um minuto depois da chegada dos paraguaios, Sheik carregou pela direita e cruzou para dentro da área. Élton chegou batendo, mas foi travado pela marcação. A bola então sobrou para Jadson livre, que só empurrou para dentro, aumentando a vantagem da Macaca.

Gilson Kleina nem teve tempo para comemorar. No primeiro ataque após a saída de bola, o Sol de América empatou o jogo. Depois de bate rebate dentro da área, Javier Toledo, que havia sido citado por Kleina no pré jogo, apareceu para empatar a partida. No entanto, a Ponte ainda tinha uma vantagem de dois gols a ser tirada, por ter marcado fora de casa.

O gol de empate colocou de volta o time paraguaio na partida. Conseguia chegar ao gol da Ponte com muita facilidade. Marllon e Rodrigo batiam cabeça e erravam na marcação lance após lance. Aranha ia salvando a Macaca a cada investida do adversário, que só conseguia chegar em alguns contra-ataques. E em um desses chegou ao segundo gol, no último minuto do primeiro tempo. Lucca recebeu de Elton na entrada da área e encheu o pé, sem chances para Agustín.

Precisando de três gols para se classificar, o Sol de América tinha que ir para o tudo ou nada no segundo tempo. Já o time brasileiro podia ficar na dele, recuado e esperando uma chance para matar o jogo. E conseguiu logo aos sete minutos. Depois de leavntamento para a área, a bola bateu no braço de Arrechea. Lucca foi para a cobrança e fez o terceiro da Ponte.

Mas a Macaca estava querendo mesmo era dificultar a própria vida. Aos 14 minutos, Nino Paraíba atropelou e fez um pênalti muito bobo em cima de Rojas. Para sua sorte, Aranha pegou a cobrança de Giménez e ainda catou o rebote de Rojas. A equipe paraguaia, mesmo sem muitas chances de reagir, continuou atacando e obrigando Aranha a fazer outras defesas.

A partir dos 30 minutos, o jogo esfriou. O Sol de América já conformado com a eliminação, não pressionava mais com a mesma intensidade. Na mesma pegada, a Ponte também não forçava tanto nos contra-ataques. O jogo foi se arrastando até o final, com vitória e classificação da Ponte Preta, que espera a definição do confronto entre Sport e Arsenal de Sarandí para saber seu adversário nas oitavas de final.

This will be Pakistan’s first World Cup since 1997 and more than anything the players will be looking to soak up the atmosphere and see what it’s like to play the big names. But a good performance cannot be secondary to that. After all, unless they reach the Super Sixes, Pakistan will be returning home with only four games under their belt – three group matches and a play-off.Since qualifying for the World Cup early in 2008, Pakistan have played only two tournaments – the Asia Cup and the tri-series in Bangladesh. The previous summer transfer window saw Wolves bring in a number of players to Molineux, but one area of the pitch they didn’t strengthen in was midfield.

With Wolves only having a total of four options for the defensive and central-midfield roles in their squad, it appears as though they are now looking to strengthen in that department in the upcoming January transfer window.

What’s the news?

It has been reported by Italian media outlet Corriere dello Sport (via Birmingham Live) that Wolves are planning to make a move to sign Juventus and former Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey in January.

Since making the move from Arsenal to the Serie A side, Ramsey, who is currently valued at £12.6m according to Transfermarkt, has made 69 appearances for Juventus across all competitions, scoring six goals and providing six assists along the way.

Fixing a hole

Prior to joining Juventus, Ramsey, who was once described as being “world-class” by Wales teammate Joe Allen, made a total of 371 appearances for Arsenal, bagging 65 goals and creating 65 assists in the process.

If Wolves are interested in signing Ramsey in January, they should definitely do so if a move would be financially viable to them.

The Welshman has a lot of Premier League experience under his belt with 262 appearances, which could be very beneficial, especially for some of Wolves’ younger players like Rayan Ait-Nouri, Ki-Jana Hoever and Morgan Gibbs-White.

Ramsey moving to Molineux in January would also be very exciting for the fans. After all, he’s a regular winner of trophies, reigning supreme in domestic cups with Arsenal and winning Serie A with Juve.

Most importantly, however, he’d offer the club more depth in midfield. Wolves failed to sign Renato Sanches during the summer but the 68-cap Wales international is an eye-catching alternative.

With Ruben Neves’ future still up in the air and Joao Moutinho aged 35, there are going to be some glaring gaps in the middle of the park to fill.

After all, other options in Leander Dendoncker and Romain Saiss have been preferred in defence while Gibbs-White is out on loan.

Consequently, the addition of Ramsey would be an important one, gifting Bruno Lage an experienced and talented midfield option.
