Neste domingo, às 17h, Brasil e Peru fazem a decisão da Copa América-2019, no Maracanã. A partida que pode trazer mais um título em casa para o país, também tem tudo para marcar história em outro quesito, uma vez que a tendência é que a renda bruta da final bata o recorde histórico do futebol brasileiro, que hoje pertence a Brasil x Bolívia, partida de estreia desta edição.

Naquela partida no Morumbi, válida pela primeira rodada da competição continental, a arrecadação superou os R$ 22,4 milhões, por volta de R$ 7 milhões a mais do que o antigo recorde, que pertencia a Brasil x Chile, no Allianz Parque, pelas Eliminatórias da Copa do Mundo, em 2017. Duncan Fletcher, the India coach, has said that his players were “overconfident” on the tours to South Africa and New Zealand and ended up complicating their games, something he wants them to learn from and avoid in England.India lost their last two Test series overseas by a 1-0 margin. They set South Africa a target of 458 in the first Test in Johannesburg, before the hosts held on for a thrilling draw, finishing within striking distance of the target. The second Test was claimed by South Africa, who won by 10 wickets, chasing down India’s target of 58. In New Zealand, India fell 40 runs short in the first Test and were then thwarted by New Zealand, who saved the second Test after being dismissed for 192 in the first innings.”With these young boys I felt they could have been a little overconfident when they went to South Africa and New Zealand because they had done so well in India,” Fletcher told . “As the series went, it made them realise that playing away from home is very difficult. They believe that they have learnt from those tours and so there is positivity in the camp but the overconfidence has gone. But again, until you actually go out there and play a game, you will never know if you actually have learnt.”The biggest mistake the India players committed, according to Fletcher, was making their games complicated. “The batsmen, for instance, tried to bat a little too differently than they would in India,” he said. “The only actual difference was they had to get used to a bit more bounce. Because of this bounce, when it comes to the short ball, you just have to make up your mind whether you’re going to play or leave it. In India, you can play it on a consistent basis.”For the bowlers the length changes a little; you have to bowl a bit fuller when you go overseas. And it’s not an easy thing to do, especially for a young bowler. You’ve been groomed and trained your brain to bowl a certain way and even if the difference is only 6-12 inches, it’s not easy to make the change instantly and that too under pressure.”We see experienced international players’ games altering under pressure. Now here is an inexperienced side with players who are still learning their game and they will take time to get used to the varied challenges.”India are without Zaheer Khan in England and though Ishant Sharma has played 55 Tests, Mohammed Shami, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Varun Aaron have a combined 13 Tests between them, and Ishwar Pandey and Pankaj Singh are yet to debut. Fletcher said that while his pace attack was raw, it had a lot of variety.”The bowlers are pretty inexperienced. We haven’t really got anyone to lead the group and we haven’t taken 20 wickets in a Test since quite a while now. But for once we have a good variety in our pace attack. They are still pretty inexperienced but experience can also come from learning quickly, and we hope they have done that. It will be so very crucial for them as a unit to stay disciplined and not try too much. It’s just about ensuring that we get these young men’s minds right.”The BCCI had asked former India captain Rahul Dravid to spend some time with the team ahead of the series on the team management’s request. Fletcher said Dravid’s presence would help not only the batsmen, but also the bowlers, who the coach wanted to think like batsmen do.”People would think I have called him to help the batsmen,” Fletcher said. “But actually it’s as much for the bowlers. What people don’t understand is that the bowlers think like bowlers. I want Rahul to talk to them and make them think like batsmen. That way they will know what areas a batsman likes and doesn’t like, which will help them a great deal in forming their strategies. The problem is that the Indian bowlers don’t bat or practise batting when they’re playing domestic cricket. And so, while they understand their bowling, they don’t understand batting.”Rahul can play a role right through. His approach and his character is so good. I’ve really enjoyed talking cricket with Rahul. I really rated him and wanted him back in the side for some time now. We’ve had some chats since he got here and discussed various ideas and possibilities. What I also like about him is that he can relate to the players culturally. Also, if a player gets the same message from more than one person, he is going to be more convinced about it.”Dravid was India’s most successful batsman on the previous tour of England in 2011 and since then, the team has been in transition since with several experienced players retiring or being dropped. Fletcher said his coaching methods had also changed as he had to deal with young players now.”Fortunately for me, I went through a similar phase with England where the older players were left out or retired and a whole new generation of cricketers came in. The major difference is that with the older ones you just sit back and let them come to you. No matter how good and experienced one is, bad habits sometimes creep in and you’ve got to help them get rid of those small bad habits without being too overbearing.”The younger players are a bit reluctant because they don’t understand their game fully. So, you’ve got to go to them and talk to them. However, you have to make sure you send the message very clearly because otherwise they can get confused and start making their game more difficult. You keep the communication very simple and don’t make more than one change at a time, even though some players might require more than one change – technically and mentally. The key is to change only one link of the chain at a time. If you change two, you don’t know which one will confuse the player. That’s why it takes time. Cricket is not an easy game to improve at in a short time.”

علق أسامة نبيه نجم نادي الزمالك الأسبق، على تعادل الفارس الأبيض أمام بيراميدز بهدفين لكل منهما مساء الخميس في إطار أولى جولات الدوري المصري لموسم 2023-2024.

وقال نجم الزمالك الأسبق، في تصريحات لقناة “إم بي سي مصر” الفضائية: “تابعت مباراة الزمالك وبيراميدز، قلبي كان مع الزمالك، اكتسبنا شهرتنا من خلال القلعة البيضاء”.

وتابع أسامة نبيه تصريحاته: “يجب على الزمالك أن يتماسك الفترة المقبلة، ونتيجة مباراة بيراميدز جيدة في ظل ما يمر به النادي في الفترة الأخيرة، نقطة إيجابية تدفع الزمالك خطوة للأمام”.

وختم حديثه: “ما فعله حسام عبد المجيد خطأ كبير وناتج من قلة خبرات اللاعب، العقوبة الموقعة عليه مناسبة جدًا لكونه مازال لاعبًا صغيرًا في السن”.

وأوضح: “المشكلة هي قلة الراحة، وخاصة من الناحية الذهنية، تتوالى المواسم مع إجازة لمدة أسبوعين أو ثلاثة أسابيع، وهذا لا شيء، وهناك المزيد من المباريات بعد ذلك، دوري أبطال أوروبا وغيرها من البطولات، أنا أشتكي قليلًا لما نمر به هنا، وبعد ذلك أنسى ذلك ونخوض المسابقات”.

وعما قاله فيل فودين بشأن رغبتهم في تحقيق الرباعية هذا الموسم للتفوق على ثلاثية الموسم الماضي، قال بيب: “إنه صغير جدًا، أنت تتفهم ذلك مع مرور الوقت، من الجيد أن يكون لديك هذا الطموح، لكن كما قلت للاعبين، الطموح هو المباراة التالية”.

Em nota oficial, o presidente do Internacional, Marcelo Medeiros, lamentou a agressão sofrida por uma torcedora do Grêmio no Beira-Rio, no Gre-Nal deste sábado. O mandatário ressaltou que o Inter está analisando as imagens do ocorrido e não descarta “eventuais punições”.

– No mínimo, não houve bom senso e compostura dos adultos envolvidos em preservar uma criança diante do momento. O clube está realizando a checagem das imagens para verificar o episódio. Assim, tomará as medidas cabíveis para eventuais punições tanto a torcedores quanto a funcionários da casa, conforme regra do estatuto – disse.

O CASO
Uma mulher ao lado de seu filho segura uma camisa do Grêmio no setor destinado à torcida do Internacional. Outra mulher, acompanhada de dois homens, coíbe a atitude da torcedora gremista com empurrões. Sem saber o que fazer, a criança chora. Ambos foram retirados e expulsos da arquibancada.

– Lamentamos o triste episódio ocorrido ao final do clássico Grenal. (…) Para abrandar a situação tensa, o funcionário do clube conduziu a retirada da mãe e da criança com segurança até a saída do estádio, devolvendo a camisa – relata o comunicado oficial, que completa:

Peter Trego hit his second successive Royal London One-Day Cup hundred to steer Somerset to a comfortable six-wicket Group B win against Middlesex at Lord’s – in front of actor John Cleese.Trego followed up Tuesday’s 101 against Warwickshire with an impressively-controlled 120 from 137 balls as Somerset hunted down Middlesex’s 255 for 7 with ten balls remaining. Cleese, of Faulty Towers fame, was in the stands and came into the Somerset dressing room after the match.With three wins a tie and only one defeat from their first five games in the competition, Somerset are in good shape to push on to qualification for the quarter-finals.Colin Ingram joined Trego in a match-winning stand of 162 in 31 overs for the third wicket after Toby Roland-Jones had removed both Somerset openers, Nick Compton and Marcus Trescothick. But Trego, who hit three sixes and nine fours, and Ingram, with three sixes and four fours in his 83-ball 68, then took command in the sunshine as a Middlesex attack missing Steven Finn and Ravi Patel, struggled to contain them.There were still 32 runs required when Trego lifted Harry Podmore to deep midwicket in the 45th over, but James Hildreth and Alex Barrow finished matters with a flurry of boundaries. Barrow hit five fours in his 26 not out, ending the match with two in a row off Podmore, while Hildreth remained unbeaten on 14.Dawid Malan and Chris Rogers earlier anchored the Middlesex effort, putting on 108 in almost 27 overs for the first wicket before Malan went on to score 82 from 116 balls, with eight fours. Rogers and Malan built Middlesex’s innings carefully, after they had been put in by Somerset captain Trescothick in early-morning conditions that offered some seam movement from a green-hued pitch and also more than a hint of swing.It took Rogers until the 13th over to hit his first boundary and, after facing his first 28 balls, he had made only 4. Nevertheless, he soon accelerated – once advancing down the pitch to thrash a short ball from Trego through the covers for four – and, when he was bowled swiping at Johann Myburgh’s offspin, the Australian Test opener had reached 52 from 74 balls.Paul Stirling then helped Malan to add a further 55 in nine overs for the second wicket, striking four fours in a 31-ball 29 before missing a swing at Alfonso Thomas. Eoin Morgan, Middlesex’s captain took successive fours off Tim Groenewald, including a cheeky flip over his right shoulder to fine leg, but on 8 he then holed out to deep cover off the same bowler.Worse was to come for Middlesex, as three wickets fell for just 17 runs in just over four overs. Malan, Neil Dexter, for 5, and John Simpson, 4, all followed Stirling and Morgan back into the pavilion as the innings threatened to fall apart just when Middlesex were planning to press on.Malan, sent back by his new partner Ryan Higgins, was run out by Trescothick’s throw to keeper Barrow, and Dexter was also needlessly run out when he answered Higgins’s call for a tight single and failed to beat Myburgh’s direct hit from midwicket.Simpson edged Groenewald behind and it took some bold late hitting from Ollie Rayner, who deposited a Thomas full toss over a short legside boundary into the Grandstand in a 32-ball unbeaten 37, to push Middlesex above 250.Higgins also attempted to atone for his part in both run outs by driving Lewis Gregory over extra-cover for six and four in 27 from 32 balls, before being caught at deep midwicket off the same bowler, and joining in a spirited stand of 48 in 7 overs with Rayner.Roland-Jones produced a beauty to have Compton caught at the wicket for 2 in his opening over, and Trescothick had made only 19 when he played at a ball from the Middlesex fast bowler that he could have left alone and also edged to keeper Simpson. But that was as good as it got for Middlesex, who have now lost three of their first four games in this competition.”It was one of the most special moments in my career, to score a hundred here at the home of cricket and then to celebrate it by raising my bat towards the pavilion and in front of all the people in the ground today,” Trego said. “The audience included a very special person in John Cleese, a hero of mine and also a fellow Weston-super-Mare boy. I met him for the first time today when he came to our dressing room. I am on cloud nine at the moment.”We are very well-drilled and organised in 50-over cricket, and that is another good win towards hopefully qualifying for the quarter-finals. When there’s a little bit in the pitch our bowlers are as good as anyone’s and we’re confident of doing well in this competition.”
