Tottenham: Spurs Set To Pay Asking Price For Star

Tottenham Hotspur have "decided to pay the desired amount" for Galatasary defender Victor Nelsson this summer and he is "preparing" to leave.

Who are Spurs signing?

The Lilywhites and new manager Ange Postecoglou have already been boosted by a few arrivals this summer with Spurs' squad overhaul well underway.

Goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario has joined from Empoli in a deal worth £17.2 million, while the north Londoners also struck a £40 million agreement with Leicester City to sign star playmaker James Maddison.

Speaking after their arrivals, Postecoglou heaped praise on both players, not just for their obvious ability, but also their character as individuals.

“It’s not just about the talent they bring as footballers," explained Postecoglou.

It’s what they bring as people as well because we are going to play football that requires a certain type of personality and character.

“Both those guys have got it in abundance. I could hear it in their voices when I spoke to them. I had a couple of chats with both of them before we signed them and I knew that they were the right types to bring into the dressing room."

Vicario and Maddison join the likes of Dejan Kulusevski, who signed on a permanent deal from Juventus at the start of the window, and winger Manor Solomon who is putting pen to paper on his move to Spurs today.

The Israeli international could well be joined by a star centre-back, with Wolfsburg defender Micky van de Ven, Edmond Tapsoba of Bayer Leverkusen, Fulham's Tosin Adarabioyo and Barcelona's Clement Lenglet all in the frame.

Another defender to have been linked with a Spurs move is Nelsson, and according to a report from Turkey, a transfer is edging closer after a big decision.

victor-nelsson-tottenham-transfer-news-opinion-premier-league

Turkish news site Aksam claim the Denmark international is "preparing" to open himself up to Europe and is almost certain to leave Galatasary this window.

Spurs, Napoli, Arsenal and Atalanta have been targeting Nelsson, but it's Tottenham who are seemingly in pole position.

Club chiefs, after seeing a bid of £19 million rejected, have now "decided to pay the desired amount" for Galatasary's "star player".

The Super Lig apparently requested around £21 million to sell their prized asset, a fee which Tottenham have opted to agree too. This is listed as a record price for any Galatasary player, so if Spurs do in fact pay the full asking price, he will leave the club for the "highest transfer fee".

Tottenham are named as the most serious suitor for Nelsson as a result, but amid their links to van de Ven, it will be interesting to see if both the Dutchman and Dane come to north London together.

Who is Victor Nelsson?

He's been a star defender and undroppable for Galatasary, especially last season, with his numbers reflecting that of an assured and composed centre-back.

Nelsson is yet to ply his trade in a top European division, but the player's importance to Galatasary is highlighted by the fact he featured more than any other outfielder for them last campaign (WhoScored).

The ex-FC Copenhagen star won more aerial duels per 90 and made more blocks per match than any of his teammates over 2022/2023 – emphasizing why Tottenham have allegedly decided to pay his exit clause (WhoScored).

Romano: Man United eyeing “very interesting” transfer

Manchester United have repeatedly sent scouts to watch French centre-back Jean-Clair Todibo, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Will Manchester United sign Todibo?

Despite having kept the most clean sheets in the Premier League last season, Erik ten Hag is yet to be fully satisfied with his defensive unit.

David de Gea is departing Old Trafford after 12 years as the club's number one, while Phil Jones has already left, and there are rumours suggesting Eric Bailly, Alex Telles and Harry Maguire may also be heading for the exit door.

Such an upheaval will dramatically alter United's transfer plans this summer and Ten Hag will now need to strengthen his backline.

Andre Onana will replace De Gea, while the Red Devils are already well-stocked at left-back, meaning the only position left to fill gaps is in the heart of the defence.

According to transfer expert Romano, one man Ten Hag may turn to is Todibo, the 23-year-old Nice defender identified as a target with great future potential and possibly costing approximately £39m.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, Romano said: "They sent their scouts multiple times, I'm told, to watch Jean-Clair Todibo, who did very well in Ligue 1 last season. This is a player that they are following, but still nothing concrete in terms of negotiations."

After initially arriving at Nice on loan from Barcelona in February 2021, the defender made his move permanent just five months later and has gone from strength to strength in the south of France.

His impressive performances have seemingly caught the eye of Ten Hag and the fact that the Dutchman has sent scouts to watch him on multiple occasions suggest United like what they have seen from the 23-year-old.

United were previously linked with Kim Min-jae as a centre-back target but he is with Bayern Munich now, while Todibo's compatriot Axel Disasi of Monaco has also been linked to last season's Carabao Cup winners.

If United were to be taken over by Jim Ratcliffe, who is the current owner of Nice, then a deal may be more easily negotiated.

Who is Man United target Todibo?

After arriving at Barcelona for just £850,000 from Toulouse in 2019, expectations were naturally high for Todibo, who has been called a 'very interesting' player.

This expectation only grew when Germany icon Lothar Matthaus described Todibo as the "best centre back I’ve seen in a long time" during his loan spell at Schalke and praised him for his calm demeanor at such a tender age.

However, he only managed five games for La Blaugrana and, following another loan at Benfica, finally arrived at Nice. He has since made 103 appearances for the Eaglets, averaging a 6.94 rating on Sofascore in Ligue 1 last term.

One of his key strengths is his passing capabilities, something he showcased compared to other centre-backs in the French top tier last season.

Todibo boasted a very respectable passing accuracy of 88.5%, with a 95% and 94.7% short and medium accuracy respectively. He ranked in the top 6% of players for progressive passing distance in each match on average, highlighting his ability and comfort with the ball at his feet.

He is also a smart and competent defender who is very capable in one-v-ones. Todibo ranks in the top 11% of Ligue 1 centre-backs last season per 90 for tackles won, tackles in the defensive third and dribblers tackled.

Overall, Todibo looks like he has the potential to be a world-beater and Ten Hag may be the man to elevate his game to new levels.

Liverpool Pursuing Deal To Sign "Exciting" Teen At Anfield

An update has emerged on Liverpool and their plans to bolster their academy options ahead of the 2023/24 campaign…

What's the latest on Trevan Sanusi to Liverpool?

According to the Daily Mail, the Reds are one of a number of teams eyeing up a swoop to sign Birmingham City winger Trevan Sanusi in the summer transfer window, as Jurgen Klopp looks to add another talented youngster to the club.

The report claims that fellow Premier League sides Arsenal, Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United have all been scouting the 16-year-old attacker and are interested in snapping him up.

It states that scouts from all of the above outfits have been keeping tabs on the teenage starlet, with the Reds being one of the interested parties.

The Daily Mail do not, however, reveal how much a deal would cost. He has not signed a scholarship contract with the Championship outfit but any team attempting to sign him would need to pay a compensation fee due to his age.

Where would Trevan Sanusi fit in at Liverpool?

Sanusi only turned 16 in April and would likely arrive to form part of the club's academy system with a view to working his way up to the first team in the future.

He could follow in the footsteps of Spain U18 international Stefan Bajcetic, who forced himself into Klopp's plans during the 2022/23 campaign.

The defensive midfielder played for the Reds at U18, U19, and U21 level before making 19 senior appearances for the German boss last season.

Klopp proved that he is willing to offer opportunities to young players as he handed the 18-year-old six Premier League starts in the middle of the park, showing that there would be a pathway for Sanusi at Anfield.

Earlier this year, Birmingham boss John Eustace was hopeful of the young sensation putting pen to paper on a scholarship deal. The head coach said: “He’s a really exciting young attacking player and we’re hoping that he signs for us and joins the academy."

Liverpool midfielder Stefan Bajcetic.

There is little data to go off in regard to his form for the Blues at youth level but he did score once in three outings for England's U16s as they won the Development Tournament earlier this year and was named on the bench for Eustace's side for a Championship clash with Sheffield United.

This suggests that the 16-year-old dynamo, who was previously called up by England's U15s, has showcased himself to be an exceptional talent for his age, as the club's first-team manager has decided to bring him into the senior set-up.

Therefore, Liverpool could be bringing in a potential future star to develop during the years to come and he could follow Bajcetic in working his way through the various age groups before making an impact for Klopp in the Premier League.

Given they are currently 16 and 18, Sanusi could end up forming an important part of the club's long-term future alongside the Spanish midfielder if they are both able to sustain themselves as regulars in the side as they develop over the coming years.

Arsenal: Arteta has "two" more signings up his sleeve

Arsenal could potentially have "two more" signings to come this summer after deals for Declan Rice, Kai Havertz, and Jurrien Timber are all tied up, claims transfer insider Dean Jones.

Arsenal transfer news – who else are the club targeting?

Arsenal have already made a huge splash in the transfer window this summer, with their £105m bid for Declan Rice reportedly accepted by West Ham United, pending discussions over the deal's structure.

declan-rice-west-ham

The North Londoners have also just announced their first signing of the summer, German international Havertz, from cross-city rivals Chelsea.

The deal cost a reported £65m, which puts the dynamic midfielder second – soon to be third – on Arsenal's list of most expensive transfers ever.

However, Mikel Arteta hasn't neglected the defence as a €45m/48 (£39m/41) deal to bring Ajax's exciting Jurrien Timber to the Emirates looks to be coming to a successful conclusion, per transfers expert Fabrizio Romano.

In past windows, this would represent a stunning level of spending for a club synonymous with penny-pinching during the Emirates era, yet Edu and Co. might only be getting started.

What has Dean Jones said about Arsenal's transfer plans?

Jones was clear that despite the club already spending big this summer, he has heard information suggesting that they have plans to spend more.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, the journalist said: "I expect Arsenal to put their foot on the ball after they get these next two signings through the door. It's been an intense period trying to tie up Havertz, Timber and Rice, but they are in a very good place now, and my information is that more signings will be coming — but not just yet.

"They will start getting the players in for pre-season and then assess how, when and where they attack the market further. It wouldn't surprise me if there are two more to come — but not yet."

Before this summer, who were Arsenal's five most expensive signings ever?

The Gunners look like they are about to blow their previous spending records out of the water this summer, but who were the priciest players to don the famous red and white beforehand?

In fifth place is Gabriel Jesus, who joined the club from now title rivals Manchester City in the summer of 2022 for just £45m.

gabriel-jesus-arsenal-elye-wahi-transfer-gossip-edu-arteta

The Brazilian enjoyed a great first season in North London, and had it not been for his knee injury at the World Cup, he would have likely ended the season on more than the 11 goals he did.

At number four, Alexandre Lacazette who arrived in 2017 from French outfit Lyon for a hefty £46.5m.

Despite ending his time at the club with a rather slender goal tally of just 54 goals in 158 Premier League appearances, the Frenchman was a player fans respected for his tireless hold-up play, and since his return to Lyon, he has found his scoring form again.

Ben White holds the third spot, the £50m man that had his fair share of detractors upon his move to the club in 2021, detractors that have likely changed their tune by now.

ben-white-arsenal

The former Brighton & Hove Albion man played his first season for the club in his natural position at centre-half but was moved out to right-back upon the introduction of William Saliba, a position he has since flourished in.

Claiming the silver medal is former captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who cost the club £56m after joining in the January transfer window of 2018.

While things may have ended poorly for the former Dortmund star at the Emirates when he was in form, he was nigh unstoppable.

In just 163 games for the club, the Gabon international racked up 98 goals and 21 assists, forming a particularly potent duo with Lacazette.

Unfortunately, first place in this list goes to a player that has to be described as somewhat of a flop, Nicolas Pepe.

The Ivorian winger joined the Gunners from Lille in the summer of 2019 for a club record fee of £72m, and despite showing occasional glimpses of brilliance, he never reached the potential so many had hoped he would under Arteta.

Everton: Dyche Could Now Repeat Toffees’ Moise Kean Mistake At Goodison Park

Everton are interested in a move for Inter Milan forward Joaquin Correa, according to reports in Italy.

What's the latest on Joaquin Correa to Everton?

According to reports in Italy (via FC Inter News), both the Toffees and West Ham United have made contact with Correa so far this summer, with the forward and the Inter Milan looking to part ways after an unsuccessful spell.

Correa's current valuation is as low as £17m, as per FootballTransfers, which is a significantly lower price than the €30m (£27m) that Inter paid Lazio for the forward back in July of 2022.

The drop in valuation should help the Argentine's exit this summer, who looks set to leave the club just one year after making his deal permanent.

Linked with a move to the Premier League, it will certainly be interesting to keep an eye on just where Correa ends up this summer.

Should Everton avoid Joaquin Correa?

Inter Milan forward Joaquin Correa.

With their Premier League status hanging by a thread in the last two seasons, Everton can ill afford yet another transfer flop, particularly in attack.

Last season, the Toffees spent a staggering €78m (£67m) on reinforcements. And the season before that, they spent close to €40 million (£35m) on adding to supposed quality needed to comfortably survive.

Things were anything but comfortable though, as Frank Lampard and Sean Dyche were forced to keep their sides afloat on the final days of their respective seasons in charge, so the issue hasn't exactly been a lack of funding.

The problem therein lies with the recruitment in the transfer market.

In many ways, moving for Correa – a forward who scored just four goals all of last season – would be a classic Everton move of recent times.

In fact, it would almost mirror their £25.1m deal to sign Moise Kean back in 2019.

The Italian arrived with so much promise, before scoring just four goals in 39 appearances and eventually finding his way back to Juventus.

Those in Italy have not been impressed with the Juventus forward, either, with the Liverpool Echo reporting that Italian newspapers labelled the 23-year-old 'lazy' and 'the worst' back in September as the Serie A side struggled domestically.

Correa's stats are even more damming, however.

At least Kean showed signs of promise prior to his Goodison Park move. Correa, contrastingly, has never looked like bursting into life for Inter.

Statistically speaking, too, when comparing the Argentina international with the former Everton man during his time in England's top flight, it is Correa who comes out the worse player.

During the 2019/20 campaign, Kean had more goal involvements per 90, whilst also enjoying a better take-on success, as per FBref.

Perhaps a killer blow for Dyche, which should end all plans to sign the Inter flop, is his poor aerial duel success.

Last season, the reported transfer target won just 25% of his duels, something that would not bode well in an often scrappy, yet effective, Dyche setup.

The more that it's looked at, the more it seems as though Everton would be better off avoiding a Kean mistake in signing Correa, who writer Jerry Mancini claimed had been "awful this season" before the new campaign gets underway.

Man United Favourites To Sign "Complete" 28 y/o

Manchester United appear to be in pole position to sign Adrien Rabiot this summer, with the Red Devils considered great favourites for his signature.

What’s the latest Man United transfer news?

Erik ten Hag seemingly wanted Rabiot at Old Trafford last summer ahead of his first season in charge. The United boss was reportedly on board with a transfer that would have been worth an initial £15m, however, a deal fell through and the midfielder remained at Juventus.

Rabiot was again linked with a move to Manchester prior to the New Year, and it seems as if he is still of interest to United officials after making 48 appearances for his current employers during the 2022/23 season, contributing to 17 goals.

Recent reports have suggested that a concrete offer has already been placed to the player, who is set to become a free agent in a matter of weeks when his Juventus contract officially expires.

Sport Witness have relayed a new update from Spanish outlet AS regarding Rabiot, citing Atletico Madrid’s interest in the player. However, they add that it is United who are the ‘great favourite’ to sign Rabiot at this moment in time in what appears to be a transfer boost for Ten Hag and co.

adrien-rabiot-juventus-man-united-transfers

Who is Adrien Rabiot?

Rabiot would provide Ten Hag with an experienced and versatile option in midfield, with the 28-year-old’s Transfermarkt valuation currently standing at €30m, so from a business perspective, a transfer appears to be a smart one.

He can play as a central, holding or left midfielder and was once labelled as a ‘complete player’ by legendary midfielder Andrea Pirlo, who said:

“He is a complete player, I have rarely seen someone so strong both physically and technically.

“He doesn’t even know the potential for improvement he can have, and we work on the mental side of things to make him understand that he is a champion. He is improving game after game.”

The Red Devils could lose a midfielder of their own this summer with Scott McTominay’s future up in the air, so Rabiot could be viewed as a solid addition after ending the campaign as Juventus' best-performing player, as per WhoScored.

He would bring a winning mentality to United’s squad alongside the likes of Raphael Varane and Casemiro who arrived from Real Madrid in recent years, with the midfielder winning an impressive 24 major honours during his career to date.

Rabiot has come off the back of a season where he has played plenty of football with Juventus, and who knows, his balance could make him a smart signing, possibly featuring alongside Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes next year.

Shock Leeds Update Emerges Regarding 68-Year-Old

Former Leeds United manager Sam Allardyce could return to the club in a different role this summer, according to a surprise update from journalist Ben Jacobs.

Why did Allardyce leave Leeds?

The 68-year-old was drafted in as Whites boss late in the 2022/23 season, tasked with producing a miracle escape act in the final weeks of the campaign.

Allardyce was unable to achieve such heroics, however, ultimately being given too difficult a job, following disappointing spells from both Jesse Marsch and Javi Gracia. His role as Leeds manager always felt like it would be a short-term one, with a different boss coming in this summer, so it was no great shock to see him depart recently.

While there was always a chance that he could stay on, especially if he kept the Whites in the Premier League, a younger, more long-term appointment is needed at Elland Road – someone who can be in the job for many years and take them back into the top flight.

Allardyce's days managing Leeds may be numbered, but a fresh claim suggests that his affiliation with the club may not yet be over.

Leeds United managerSamAllardycecelebrates their first goal

Could Allardyce take different job at Leeds?

Speaking to Give Me Sport, Jacobs failed to rule out the possibility of Allardyce return to Elland Road in a different capacity this summer:

"Big Sam has already said that he doesn't feel he is the right man to lead Leeds as a manager, but that he is prepared to come in, in some other capacity."

This is clearly a shock claim from Jacobs, with Allardyce seemingly walking off into the sunset and having nothing to do with Leeds again after their relegation.

It is hard to see where the English veteran would fit in, however, unless new owners 49ers Enterprises find a position for him that they believe is perfect. A new sporting director is required, but he has no experience in that role, and a recent report suggests that the highly-rated Stuart Webber could be arriving from Norwich City in the near future.

In truth, it feels best for Allardyce to simply move on, with the former England manager not representing the future in the modern game, even though he deserves great credit for forging an impressive managerial career.

It's time for Leeds to look forward and acquire the services of younger individuals with fresh ideas, such as Webber, ensuring this new era at Elland Road is successful for many years to come.

Rangers Could Ditch £6m Dud With Swoop For 24 Y/o Ace

Glasow Rangers head coach Michael Beale is working hard to bolster his playing squad with a view to competing for major honours next term.

The Light Blues ended the 2022/23 campaign without a single trophy to show for their efforts and must rectify that by competing on all fronts next season.

To do that, the Gers could need to overhaul their roster and work has already started on that front as Kieran Dowell and Dujon Sterling are set to come through the door, whilst the likes of Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos have already departed.

Another player who could be on his way out of Ibrox in the coming weeks is central midfielder Glen Kamara, who has been linked with an exit.

The Daily Mail recently reported that Galatasaray and Besiktas are both keen on the Finland international, who will be allowed to leave for a fee in the region of £6m this summer.

Who could replace Glen Kamara at Rangers?

Beale could brutally ditch the former Arsenal academy graduate by striking a deal to sign LAFC central midfielder Jose Cifuentes ahead of next season.

The Gers are reportedly eyeing the Colombia international and bringing the ace through the door at Ibrox in the coming weeks would allow Kamara to move the other way, as it would provide Beale with the dud's replacement.

Glasgow Rangers central midfielder Glen Kamara.

In the Scottish Premiership in 22/23, the 27-year-old averaged a Sofascore rating of 6.78 across 22 appearances, as well as just one key pass and one tackle and interception combined per match.

The Finnish midfielder, who lost 53% of his duels in the division, struggled throughout the campaign and his statistics in the league suggest that the lightweight failed to make much of an impact in or out of possession. He did not win the ball back for his side on a regular basis or provide his teammates with chances to score too often.

Cifuentes, meanwhile, has averaged a Sofascore rating of 6.83 across 11 MLS appearances in 2023 and averaged 1.5 key passes and 2.3 tackles and interceptions per game in the middle of the park.

The Colombian dynamo, who LAFC general manager John Thorrington claimed "has absolutely everything he needs to succeed", has also averaged a Sofascore rating of 7.00 across seven outings in the CONCACAF Champions League this year and created four 'big chances' for his teammates in those clashes.

These statistics suggest that the ace, who is three years younger than the Gers dud, could be a big upgrade on Kamara due to his ability to cut out opposition attacks more frequently as well as being able to create more for others with his quality on the ball.

Leeds Could Unearth A "Sharp" New Pablo Hernandez

Leeds United's last stint in the Championship lasted far longer than anybody could have expected, as financial woes resigned the former Champions League semi-finalists to a shock relegation back in 2003/04.

The size and stature of the Whites led many to believe it would only be a short stint away from the Premier League, yet 16 years passed before Marcelo Bielsa finally guided them back to glory.

Now, three years on from that success, they are back where they started, once again seeking that same goal they earned in 2020.

That was a year where all the stars seemed to align at Elland Road, with the feelgood factor well and truly surging throughout the famous stadium.

With Kalvin Phillips conducting from deep, Liam Cooper dominating at the back and Patrick Bamford finishing up front, the spine of the team was unparalleled for that level.

pablo-hernandez-leeds-united-championship

And yet, there was arguably one name that stood out above all of them. Should the Yorkshire outfit seek to return to the top flight at the first time of asking, they must find someone willing to take on the mantle that Pablo Hernandez did all those years ago.

Whilst the first team squad is admittedly lacking in quality, one unproven name does stand out, with Georginio Rutter raw but retaining the silky qualities needed to emulate the heroic Spaniard.

Could Georginio Rutter copy Pablo Hernandez at Leeds United?

Having been signed in January for a club-record fee, Jesse Marsch was one of three managers who opted against throwing the Frenchman into the side, as he would make just one Premier League start.

Javi Gracia would later admit that the 21-year-old had been a signing for the future, noting:

"Not only Georginio but all the new players that are coming to a new country and a new competition need time, but not especially Georginio. He is working very well, a good character and I'm sure his future will be brilliant."

But, as they trundled towards the drop, this transfer risk was not rewarded. They had been relegated, and their record signing had played no part in preventing it.

Despite that, when compared to other forwards across Europe on FBref, it is clear to see the areas where the £70k-per-week youngster thrives.

Ranking in the top 7% for tackles and the top 2% for interceptions per 90 showcases his work rate; his position within the top 1% for successful take-ons per 90 outlines him as the "sharp" magician that writer Joe Donnohue once suggested he was; and the fact he sits in the top 19% for assists per 90 perhaps suggests he is far from a free-scoring forward, but rather instead a creative force to be reckoned with.

This could be akin to Hernandez, who also boasted that tireless nature along with his bag of tricks, as well as the tangible qualities that brought Leeds such success. During their promotion campaign, the 38-year-old recorded a 7.35 average rating, with his nine goals and nine assists giving way to 2.3 key passes and 1.3 tackles per game, via Sofascore.

Whoever is selected to be the next long-term successor to Sam Allardyce in Yorkshire must surely put Rutter at the heart of their plans, in an effort to emulate a former favourite to propel them back to the Premier League.

Burnley: Top-Class Speedster Could Be Cornet 2.0 At Turf Moor

Burnley are eyeing a number of new signings this summer as they look to build on their Championship title win, with Ryan Kent one man linked with a move to Turf Moor.

Would Ryan Kent be a good signing for Burnley?

The Rangers man, who will depart Ibrox on a free transfer this summer when his contract expires, is an option for the likes of Burnley, Sheffield United, Everton and Leeds United according to TEAMtalk.

Since signing for the Scottish outfit permanently in 2019, the tricky winger has gone on to make 218 appearances in total, contributing 38 goals and 57 assists.

He was vital for the Gers in their run to the Europa League final last season, notching one goal and five assists, which earned him a spot in the team of the tournament, perhaps emphasising why he could be such a good pickup on a free transfer this summer.

Even in a campaign that has been widely perceived as a difficult one for Rangers, Kent has contributed three goals and eight assists in the league with a strong 7.31 rating from WhoScored for his performances.

Success in the Premier League will come for Burnley if they can add some quality in the final third, especially with the likes of Ashley Barnes and potentially Nathan Tella not being at Turf Moor next season.

Kompany may well be looking to spread out the goals in his squad once again as they did in the second tier this year and Kent's ability to find the back of the net, as well as his obvious eye for a pass, make him an ideal target.

Steven Gerrard was full of praise for the former Liverpool man during his time at Ibrox, saying:

"Ryan Kent has been top-class and hasn't let any noise affect him, he is scoring goals and looking very dangerous. He is really taking it to opposition teams."

If he were to arrive at Turf Moor, his dribbling ability and impressive record in the final third could see him emulate Maxwel Cornet, who impressed in his one-year stay at Burnley having joined from Lyon.

The Ivorian winger registered nine goals and one assist in 26 Premier League appearances and won over the fans with his performances before a relegation release clause saw him join West Ham United last summer.

He would average 1.8 shots, 0.6 key passes and 0.5 dribbles per game, compared to Kent's return of 2.1 shots, 2.2 key passes, and 1.9 dribbles per game at Rangers, which suggests that the Englishman could even be an upgrade on Cornet at Turf Moor.

Therefore, Kompany and Burnley should act quickly to bring Kent to the Premier League on a free transfer, as the speedster could be a superb addition to the squad.
