Tottenham fans fearing the worst as Eriksen price tag revealed

Loads of Tottenham fans have been reacting to a transfer update, as the club has reportedly slapped a €200m (about £178m) price tag on Christian Eriksen.

According to Di Marzio, Real Madrid are still facing the possibility of losing Luka Modric this summer, as Inter Milan continue to probe.

The San Siro club have done some excellent deals this summer, and a player like Modric could help them tip the Serie A scales away from Juventus.

The report claims Madrid are eyeing Eriksen as a replacement, and that Spurs have placed an incredible €200m price on any deal for the Danish international.

The Premier League transfer window is of course closed, so any fee for the Tottenham playmaker wouldn’t really help Mauricio Pochettino in the immediate future.

Fans are fearing that it could be a real possibility though, especially after the disappointment of the summer transfer window.

West Ham United fans react to the reason why Noble did not take the penalty against Bournemouth

Mark Noble is West Ham United’s designated penalty taker, or at least he used to be.In the first half an hour of the club’s Premier League match against Bournemouth, referee Stuart Attwell pointed to the spot. The Hammers were awarded the penalty after Nathan Ake brought down Javier Hernandez in the box. Some fans may have been confused when Marko Arnautovic stood up to take the spot-kick as opposed to Noble. There were not arguments, though, as the attacker slotted home to put West Ham a goal to the good at the London Stadium.Unfortunately for Manuel Pellegrini and his men, they were unable to maintain their advantage and Bournemouth fought back to win the match 2-1.[brid autoplay=”true” video=”280645″ player=”12034″ title=”Rafa’s Pub Facts Dodgy De Gea & Arsenal’s MiniRevolution”]Amid all the disappointment of the result, reliable club insider ExWHUemployee tweeted the real reason behind the penalty-taking controversy. The source revealed that a missed penalty in pre-season and the club’s desire to boost Arnautovic’s goal tally was why Noble was overlooked.

Aston Villa fans react to Andre Green’s loan to Portsmouth

Aston Villa have endured a turbulent start to the season, struggling for consistency in the league and suffering a premature exit from the Carabao Cup in midweek.

While Steve Bruce’s side remain amongst promotion chase, the performances of the Villans have not seen last season’s defeated play-off finalists ranked as the favourites to seal a return to the Premier League this term.

Villa are likely to be extremely active in the transfer market as they seek to complete final pieces of business before the European transfer window and loan windows slam shut on Friday, with departures on the cards as well as arrivals.

Southampton fans have found a new hero in Danny Ings

Southampton registered their first victory of the new Premier League campaign on Saturday when they overcame Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park by a 2-0 margin. The Saints had Danny Ings to thank for their win, as the striker on loan from Liverpool opened the scoring just after half time with a neat finish through Wayne Hennessey’s legs.

It marked the 26-year-old’s second strike of the new season and the forward, who has endured an injury-ravaged past few campaigns, will be glad to be back playing regular football. If he can keep up this kind of form, as well as his fitness, he may even be in line for an England recall soon enough.

After his match-winning antics for Mark Hughes’ South Coast club, plenty of Saints fans took to Twitter to hail Ings’ contribution. The striker’s bright start to life in their team has plenty hoping that he can fire them to Premier League safety this season…

Maddison tears up defences, Vardy scores plenty, 7 points: Leicester’s dream September

After being rather unlucky not taking a point from Manchester United at Old Trafford, the Foxes have sprung into action and taking six points from their next two fixtures, and played some seriously good football too. A last minute winner from Harry Maguire away at Southampton showed there is a real spirit in the Leicester City camp. So what do the Foxes need to do to make it a dream August?

If James Maddison can continue his form on from August.  Securing the services of the ex-Norwich City player for £22m on a five-year deal already looks to be a steal for the East Midlands outfit. He has already scored an excellent goal in a home fixture against free-spending Wolverhampton Wanderers. If he can continue tearing up defences and being the threat he has been so far, he could lead the Foxes to a dream month.

After retiring from international football, Jamie Vardy can focus all his attention on firing them in for the Foxes. The 31-year-old Vardy still has plenty of pace to get in-behind a defence. If he finds the same goal-scoring touch he has in the past few seasons, Leicester City really could have a dream September.

In terms of points, seven points would be a great return which would keep the Foxes competing at the right end of the table. Entertaining Liverpool at the King Power Stadium will be a tough fixture, but the following three games are all very winnable for the Midlands outfit. AFC Bournemouth, Huddersfield Town and Newcastle United are all games the Blues are capable of taking three points from. If they take seven points, they will have had a truly dream September.

Sheffield United fans react to David Brooks performance in Wales win

[ad_pod ]

Former Sheffield United winger David Brooks started and impressed for Wales in the comprehensive 4-1 victory against the Republic of Ireland in their opening UEFA Nations’ League match in Cardiff, and Blades fans were quick to react.

The Yorkshire outfit sold the talented 21-year-old to Premier League side Bournemouth in July for a reported fee of £12m, which certainly looked good on paper given he had only made 37 first-team appearances for them – scoring three goals and providing a further eight assists.

However, his price tag may well quickly rise given his latest showing for his country, where he shone out wide and showed he is able to mix it with the likes of Gareth Bale and Aaron Ramsey on the international stage.

Sheffield United supporters, who can still vote for who should be the club’s top strike partnership this season, took to social media to give their thoughts on the wide man’s performance, and while one said “McCabe is a useless negotiator”, another said “that boy is going to be some player”.

Here is just a selection of the Twitter reaction…

West Brom keen on January bid for Bradley Dack

West Bromwich Albion couldn’t secure all three points against local rivals Birmingham City on Friday night as they had to settle for a draw.

The Baggies will have their sights set firmly on securing promotion straight back to the Premier League under Darren Moore. And, to increase their chances it looks as if they’re eyeing a potential swoop, as according to a report from the Sun on Sunday (16/09; page 63) (via HITC), West Bromwich are keen on a January bid for Bradley Dack.

Indeed, West Bromwich Albion are reportedly interested in signing Bradley Dack in January.

Interestingly, the attacking midfielder has established himself as one of the standout performers in the Championship so far this season and played a huge part in getting Blackburn Rovers promoted last season.

His efforts haven’t gone unseen in the Premier League as Leicester City are also thought to be interested in signing the Englishman.

Although, if Rovers are in contention with the play-offs then it’s though that the Championship club will resist all offers for their star man.

THE VERDICT:

The Baggies will do everything they possibly can to secure promotion to the Premier League this season, with Bradley Dack certainly helping them if they can secure his services.

Although, with an established Premier League side like Leicester also in the fold for the attacking midfielder, it may be too difficult for the Midlands club to challenge.

Leeds fans bash Doncaster boss after Wilks comments

Loads of Leeds fans have been reacting to some comments from Doncaster manager Grant McCann regarding Leeds youngster Mallik Wilks.

As is so often the case with young players at big clubs, Wilks is yet to make a league appearance for Leeds.

The Leeds-born 19 year-old is still waiting for his chance Elland Road, but has been fairly promising on his loan spells.

After scoring three times with Accrington Stanley and failing to find the net in a brief spell with Grimsby Town, the  6ft tall attacker joined Doncaster Rovers this summer, where he has grabbed three goals in eight league games.

Despite his red-hot start to the season though, McCann does not think he will ever break through at Leeds.

“My personal opinion is he will not ever get a chance at Leeds. I think that they will strengthen again in January and they are strong up there (in attack), with the boy Tyler Roberts. It is going to be difficult for Mallik,” the Doncaster boss said.

“Him and his agent need to decide whether he wants to stay at Leeds and extend his contract or Mallik wants to go and sample the Football League.”

a

While it’s good to see the youngster is making an impression at his loan club, bashing his chances of making it at Elland Road doesn’t really seem like the right way to go about getting what you want.

Lots of fans have been reacting to the comments, and it’s fair to say they’re not too impressed. You can find some of the best Twitter reactions down below…

Leeds fans heap praise on revitalised Klich

[ad_pod ]

Loads of Leeds fans have been giving their verdict on Friday night’s draw at Hillsborough, and they’re once again stunned by the performance of Mateusz Klich.

Leeds got back on track with a point against Sheffield Wednesday on Friday, and if truth be told they probably should have picked up all three points.

This will be a huge relief to Marcelo Bielsa after the worrying performance against Birmingham last week, as the manager is even more obsessed with performances than he is with results.

[brid autoplay=”true” video=”301408″ player=”12034″ title=”Watch Fixture in Focus Chelsea v Liverpool”]

Adam Reach gave the hosts the lead with a stunning volley, but Klich answered with a screamer of his own just after half time.

The Polish international barely got a chance at Elland Road after being signed by Thomas Christiansen, but has already scored four Championship goals this season.

Fans are stunned by the 28 year-old’s performance, as he fired in four shots, created one chance, completed two dribbles and also chipped in on the defensive end with one tackle and one clearance.

HYS: Who should Arsenal start up front against Fulham?

[ad_pod ]

Arsenal have turned a corner after a slow start to life under Unai Emery, winning seven matches in a row across all competitions.

The Gunners face two more games before October’s international break, travelling to Azerbaijan on Thursday to tackle Qarabag before a London derby against Fulham on Sunday – where Emery’s men will look to secure their sixth league victory on the bounce.

Arsenal have been boosted by the performances of their attacking players so far this season as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette and Danny Welbeck have all impressed in their first-team opportunities.

[brid autoplay=”true” video=”302265″ player=”12034″ title=”Rafa’s Pub Facts The Icelandic Coutinho & The Scottish Ronaldo”]

That has given Emery a major selection headache and he faces another tough call ahead of Arsenal’s Premier League clash with Fulham, as only one of the aforementioned forwards can lead the line in a 4-2-3-1 formation.

Lacazette was the player selected to lead the line in the victory against Watford, with Aubameyang playing out wide, but Emery should make a chance for the trip to Fulham by utilising the Gabon international through the middle.

Using a club-record signing out of position is a bizarre call, especially when Aubameyang is yet to register an assist this season – which shows he is much better at taking chances than providing them.

Do you agree, Arsenal fans? Which forward do you want to lead the line against Fulham? Have your say in our poll below…
